"The Occupation" is the drug keeping us delirious in a state of semi-consciousness and others in a state of constant euphoria money and sympathy keep pouring, no end in sight. The doctor's advice is acknowledged yet ignored. We continue our daily lives, not exercising, consuming too much sugar, salt and carbohydrates, forgetting to eat fresh fruits and vegetables. We know what needs to be done, yet we choose to continue on a fast path toward our own destruction.
We live the "here and now" and care not about what may happen later. Our arteries in the meantime have become clogged to the point of complete blockage, Israel's heart is weakened, the muscles out of shape. The immune system's ability to respond deteriorates and an annual checkup would result in many bells ringing, numerous red lights blinking.
Shape up, Jewish State. So much depends on you. There are so many who need you to survive and be well, to be healthy and vital. Like a mother and a father, you must get better and be around to protect your children. We count on you, Israel, and cannot see you in this quickly deteriorating state. We will do everything in our power and then more to help you regain your health.
World Jewry needs you. Yet, our pleas fall on deaf ears. Perhaps you are simply unable to do what is necessary, to remember the promise God made to his people, Israel. Thus, we pray to the Almighty to protect you, help you awaken and heal you. We pray with our hearts aching and our tears dropping. May you only find the strength to survive!
And the Lord will take away from you all sickness, and none of the evil diseases of Egypt, which you knew, will he inflict on you, but he will lay them on all who hate you.
