No religion teaches violence, but unfortunately each religion is infested with a small percentage of violent individuals.
Right now the majority of Hindus need to speak up, or else their religion will be hijacked by the extremists among them.
The problem seems to be the Prime Minister of India's silence. He has not said a thing about these. If he does not control the situation in India, the rogues among Hinduism will define his agenda and not him.
His
election slogan, "sab ka sath, sab ka vikas", that is every one's support, brings
prosperity to all, will become meaningless. Instead it will become, "Hindutva ka
saaz BJP ki bakwas." The right wing will play the music on BJP's non-sense
chatter.
What the Hindus are doing to Christians is shameful. Is Modi in charge of India's affairs or the RSS?
How many Indian Americans would agree and surrender with joy if the Christian right says. "Every American has to accept Jesus as their savior, if not go back to India or wherever you came from." Yet, shamefully, I hear many Indian Americans rejoice over what is happening in India; in fact some of them are justifying it. It's like telling the raped women she deserved it for being in that place.
The fascist trend to dictate what one eats or believes is eventually going to be bad for Hindus as well. The only way to save Hindus and non-Hindus from rogue Hindus is for good Hindus to speak up. So what if all Indian's become Hindu? Will you be safe as a Hindu? Would the mistreatment of Dalits and other "untouchables" go away?
It is time for moderate Hindus to speak up and take action and prevent India from becoming ISIS or a Taliban nation. This trend is not good; prosperity does not come when the cohesiveness of the society is messed up. It will create chaos and a mess.
Modi needs to show he is in charge and not let the Mir Jaffers and Purnayyas (friends who stab in your back) in the guise of Mohan Bhagwat, Praveen Togadia, Sadhvi and their ilk to destroy him. It would be a betrayal of the trust Indians have placed in Modi.
