And there were all of those insurgents on the ground waving Old Glory even as they stormed everything it signifies.
Last year, the hideous 2020, we lost Elijah Cummings, John Lewis, and other heroes. How they would have cringed and cried out in shock, pain, and horror.
There have been unspeakable times during the Trump regime when I've envied them and other departed people famous and ordinary for being dead and not having to witness the horrors.
As abysmal as the Bush II days were, I never before envied the dead.
We can only dream of better days, a theme our next national holiday embodies, MLK Day.
If winter's here, can spring be far behind?
