In all affairs it’s a healthy thing now and then to hang a question mark on the things you have long taken for granted. –Bertrand Russell
I pledge obedience to the flag of the United States of America, and to this great superpower for which it stands, one nation under Christ, united we stand and divided we fall.
O hideous, for smoggy skies,
For industrialized grain,
For topless mountain travesties
Pollutants in the rain!
America! America! Christ shed His grace on me,
And make me good in brotherhood, in the home of the free
O! say can you see by the dawn's early light
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming.
Whose broad stripes and bright stars through the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming.
And the rockets' red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there.
Oh, say does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?
Christ Bless the USA
