And don't count on any paper ballots or receipts to serve as a reliable backstop to election fraud. In the real world of election re-counts, it is very difficult if not impossible to get a real recount. Often, the ballots are simply run through a ballot scanner again.
Not to be depressing, but for those who believe that Exit Polls can be used as a reliable check for election fraud, that is unfortunately not the case. In America the corporate-owned television news networks along with the Associated Press completely control the Exit Poll reporting on election night. It's a top secret operation. There's no proof that their data is even real. In fact, many articles and books have documented their complicity in covering up or collaborating in election fraud. http://www.thelandesreport.com/NEP.htm Even if the Exit Polls were real and reliable, think about the absurdity of the situation - using exit poll data based on secret sources to verify election results based on secret ballots that are counted by secret software that is owned by private corporations. So much for transparency.
All of this leaves elections in America completely open to manipulation by insiders and outsiders, domestic and foreign, good guys and bad. I say, let's get a clue. Keep elections 'local' with paper ballots and hand counts at the polls on Election Day.
