Presidential pardon of the 2021 Capitol Hill rioters- Let's be honest those fools who climbed the walls and broke into the Capitol building weren't armed or a mob attempting a coup of the US government. They just roamed the halls and offices. The only violence was when a Capitol Hill cop shot and killed a woman rioter. Sure they should have been prosecuted but for what? Being stupid. C'mon these people faced excessive prosecution. They should have been slapped with a fine as an illegal protester. Certainly not get prison time.
Renaming the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America- why and what for?
Regain control of the Panama Canal- Panama and the Canal Zone are legitimate operators of the canal. Trump threatening to use the US military if necessary would be seen as an act of aggression by the rest of the world. This is Trump being a blowhard.
Freeze foreign aid for 90 days- good idea to review where US dollars are being spent. Stopping military aid to Ukraine and Israel would be beneficial to ending the Ukraine war and stop the Israeli genocide of the Palestinian's in Gaza. AIPAC and the Israeli lobby in the US may have something to say here as most of the Congress is beholden to them as they help underwrite the campaigns of these politicos. We'll have to wait and see what happens on this issue.
US astronauts to Mars- well NASA would be happy. Also this a favorite plan attributed to billionaire Elon Musk now a part of Trump's entourage in his new role overseeing government spending-though not an official government department. Colonizing Mars? How about fixing the colonization of the US with homelessness and poverty on the rise.
Of course there were other actions Trump took yesterday. The above were the ones most noticeable to this writer.
