Therefore it's not enough to shout "loyal always, traitors never" from the rooftops. If one is not loyal to this affective connection that forms the basis of revolutionary politics, what is loyalty good for? What interests does resigned loyalty serve?
Recomposing the national popular collective will necessarily entail a profound intellectual and moral reform of the political leadership, the full restoration of this affective connection, of this passion, so we can go on writing history.
