We called that the "establishment" in the 60s,
the "Feds",
and they, of course, called us
"Communists".
For myself,
I'm no stranger to that instinct,
to "fight" for my turf or freedom,
or defend my home with whatever I have,
but I think about Gandhi,
how he answered violence
by absorbing it.
But only when it became a movement
did it begin to make a difference.
