Diary: Last Appeal to McCain Voters

Let us not forget the past eight years. People rise above the racial divide and fear mongering. If the republicans had not built this fear up in your minds, there is no way you could vote once more for the shame you voted for 4 years ago. Unfortunately eight years ago, you were none the wiser. Now you know. You know what happens when you vote into office a president whose policy is broken and only serves the few. Why are you forsaking the many? Why are you allowing them to poison your mind? Break away and realize who you are voting for.

You are voting for a party that has spent billions and billions of dollars, mostly borrowed from other countries, to flatten a country and kill over 1,000,000 people. They had family and traditions. They laughed and cried. There are young girls, now refugees, selling their bodies in neighboring countries. There are children who have lost whole families, wives who have lost husbands. Women and girls who have been brutally raped and murdered by our military for a war based on oil. Why elect another president who will do little if anything to break that relationship. A president that now sings to "bomb, bomb, bomb Iran" like the concept is nothing more than a variety show parody.

By the way, what ever did happen to that cheaper gas we were supposed to have? The price of gas seems to fluctuate, like the mood of a pubescent teenage girl. I do recall many Bush supports believing that the war would help the gas price.

You are voting for a party that turned a blind eye to the financial institutions writing mortgages they knew would never be afforded. They knew they would get their money back and they did, just in time. We just gave them $700 billion of it and even more when all is said and done. So with the real estate boom, due to loose lending terms, inflation went off the chart. Builders got their money. Suppliers got their money and now we have been squeezed to the point of bankruptcy.

Medical deductibles have doubled. Medical co pays have doubled. Healthcare is out of reach for 40 million people in this country.
Why would we turn our heads?

Why do we even consider electing a president who wants to take, already difficult to attain, social security benefits and trade them in an obviously unstable stock market. And doesn't support mammograms or cervical cancer screens for women with Medicaid, the poor.

Most of my republican friends have been downright embarrassed that they voted for Bush 4 years ago and some of them are voting for McCain. I hate to tell you guys, but you are voting the same way you did four years ago. How are you justifying yourselves? By buying into hook, line and sinker the fear based propaganda that the republicans have been spoon feeding you for the past year and longer.

I want to ask you all one question; If Obama were a WHITE man, with the same ideas, education, lifestyle and history would you still believe the claims, or would you toss the republican party out onto the doorstep of the closest mental institution?

P.S. I just heard car sales are the worst since WWII? So who are we comparing to Hitler again? We are in for a long haul. I don't know about you, but I would rather have the Harvard grad than the war hero who graduated 5th from the bottom of 899. I suppose that is why we have a vote, a choice.
