Diary: Torture Forever

Long ago, when I was a refugee, we all were brought into some building for paperwork. We had to bring our children with us, even very young ones. At the same time we were told that it was some kind of a temple and the children cannot be running freely or fed in it. I deliberately don?t define here what religion that temple was. It doesn?t matter. What matters is that you had your child there and he was hungry, but you were told not to feed him; in fact, we were threatened that if we violated that order, we would be kicked out and abandoned for good. We never would get admitted into any country.
I am in my 50th now, but I remember that day. I will remember it till I die. And I will remember the smirk of that torturelover who tortured us. It was torture. Try it yourself, dear readers. Try to do it to someone else. Try to deny food to the child. Try to torture your own child. Try it once and you are damaged forever.
Simple, isn?t it? No hoods, no, sleep depravation, no stripping naked, no pain infliction, no Geneva convention. But the damage is done. It is done to all of us and there were hundreds of us there. It was done to the torturers too.
The mankind had paid an enormous price for defining once and for all what the torture is. And it is not defined by the US attorneys. It is defined by the morality of the individual. It is also defined in the Old Hillel. ?Though should not inflict on the others though do not want to be inflicted on yourself.?
Whoever is tortured at least once is damaged forever. Whoever does torture to anyone is damned to Hell. I am very sorry, but there is no other way. No other way.
