Bush's team is imploding. Gonzales-- we can do a pool on how many days he has left before he's toast.
Bush Team Goes into Distraction Mode
Bush's media masters have released old news, that Khalid Shaikh Mohammed, has confessed to being leader of the 9/11 attack But is this really hot news, or a tawdry, transparent effort to try to take the heat off Gonzales and Bush's cronies.
While We're Talking About Illegal Firings... Reinstate The US Attorneys
They shouldn't have been fired. Their replacements are political hacks. Dump the hacks and put the Attorneys back on the job pursuing corruption. That should be said every time there is a call for Gonzales head.
The Right wing echo chamber has been spoon feeding the talking point, "Clinton fired 93 prosecutors" as a justification for Bush and Gonzales. Sorry simpy-heads. This dog don't walk. The McClatchy Newspapers have done a great job covering the whole Gonzales Judiciary COrruption story, and now, they have a good article covering and debunking this bogus talking point. We're doing a pretty good job covering it too-- check these inside pages from our table of contents:
People Gonzales Alberto (45 articles)
Judiciary Corruption/Crime (28 articles)
The Missing Submarine pretext.
Put this in the call me paranoid column, but did they really lose contact with a submarine for several hours, and actually notify next of kin that the sub's 140 crew members had died? Now, if, off the coast of Iran, a nuclear warhead armed sub "loses contact" for several hours, and goes into some default mode that causes it to fire a missile or three... will they have an excuse-- a pretext-- that this kind of loss of communications had happened with the USS San Juan? I know. Call me Paranoid.
Urgent Fundraising Call
It's been a rough week with a lot of new expenses with the server move. Unfortunately, the link to the donation page in the last newsletter didn't work. So here it is again.

We don't cover close to our costs with advertising. Your help is essential-- or tell your favorite businesses or presidential candidates to advertise with us.
Bluedog Saboteurs
There's a reprint of the MYDD Matt Stoller's Bluedog Saboteurs List that identifies the dems blocking passage of the legislation to put a time limit on the Iraq Mess. If your rep is among them, contact the troglodite.
All this bushcitement got me thinking. What if Bush resigned...
and Cheney became president

Arrange a Meet-up With Other OpEdNews Folk for The Pentagon March This Weekend
I created this diary so you can add a comment that you're going and suggest a place and time to meet up with other opednews folks. I'll be participating locally this weekend in a march and vigil, having attended the January march in Washington DC.
What do You call an OpEdNews Community Member
While writing the above diary, I realized it would be handy and fun to have a name for people who are part of the OpEdNews community. The diary lists a few ideas, but your suggestions would be great. Please post them as a comment on the diary.
Also, make sure to check out Stephen Lendman's article below, on congress's fake opposition to the war. The track record we've seen the past few weeks make it clear that we need to support the progressives and progressive advocacy organizations like Progressive Democrats of America (PDA) . We need to elect more progressives, even if that means dumping republicrat incumbents.
Have a great one,
Rob Kall
