(6 comments) A sweet, delicious f*ck you to Obama, David Gregory and all the others who slandered and accused heroic journalists Glenn Greenwald, Laura Poitras, Ewen MacAskill and Barton Gellman (also Polk Award winners) of being criminals, traitors, terrorists and the like.
(3 comments) This evening, Passover begins and at Passover tables, the story of Passover will be told in millions of homes. Here's a slightly different version, with a 99 percenter perspective. It's a story about an oligarch (pharaoh) who has enslaved a people for generations. This Oligarch is such a narcissist he has massive edifices built by thousands of 99 percenters, for his gravesite to commemorate him even after he is gone.
(4 comments) Bloomberg News reports that two unidentified sources claim NSA knew about the Heartbleed web security flaw and exploited it for two years before Google discovered it and made it public last week. (12 comments) Awakened any sleepwalkers lately? We're living in times when too many people are somnolent-- walking in their sleep, ignoring the signs of impending disaster-- and those signs are pretty bad. They're sleep-walking because the predators doing the damage and causing the disaster want them to be sleeping.
(19 comments) After the Supreme Court's McCutcheon decision, I got word there would be a protest in downtown, Philadelphia, across from where Occupy Philly had been. I took a train down and encountered about 60-70 people mostly carrying mass-produced signs. It got me thinking that mass protests MUST change to become more effective. Most are still based on a top-down way of thinking.
(36 comments) a request for a bull session on the connection between hierarchy, domination, predators and top-down systems, cultures and biosystems.

(166 comments) Today the five Supreme Court psychopathic scum who vote together for corporations and against people, for big money and against democracy vomited out a decision that could be the one that irreversibly puts the nail in the coffin of American democracy and the middle class.

Last week, my son and I drove from the Philly area to New England. We stopped in a rural New York town-- I don't even remember the name of the town-- and I was on uneasy, on edge. Yes, on edge, in other words, a little bit scared.
(3 comments) it's a corporatized culture to the point where what you really realize underneath it all is just this relentless desire for corporations to produce monopolies, expensive goods and services, and prey upon cheap labor and ultimately induce both wage slavery and debt slavery.
Keith Farnish Interview Transcript. Undermining-- Breaking the System that Has Broken OUR Connection
(3 comments) Want to fight the system-- the system that disconnects us from the important stuff, the system that's screwing up the world so bad we are running out of time. Keith Farnish has some serious, effective answers-- and some of them are legal.

(34 comments) There are good reasons why people love the most monstrous psychopaths in TV shows and movies. But it's important that the public learn from these shows and not be inspired by them.
(10 comments) Change is in the air. It almost feels like a miracle. With these kinds of things going on, it's reasonable to believe that almost anything can be achieved.

(19 comments) Why would a 24 year old woman deserve the power and influence of being a billionaire? There is no good reason... though there's no reason any billionaire should wield such power.

Official? Have Economists Declared that Longterm Unemployment For Millions is the New Normal, To Be Accepted

There's a fun new tool that enables you to check how liberal or conservative your first name is.
(16 comments) I don't have AN answer.
(35 comments) In my latest interview with Noam Chomsky, after talking with him about Billionaires, Wealth Inequality and How Aristotle and Madison Dealt With Them, I referred to some words he'd written about caring. Psychopaths and sociopaths don't care. It's a key part of their makeup that enables them to operate as heartless predators, exploiting everyone around them.
Here's the transcript of our conversation:
(49 comments) I interviewed Noam Chomsky on Tuesday, on my Rob Kall Bottom Up Radio Show, covering a number of topics that I'll be breaking into separate articles. This one was on wealth inequality and the no-billionaires idea, or what I like to call de-billionairization.
(2 comments) Nancy Pelosi, has joined with Harry Reid in opposing the toxic Transpacific Partnership and the TransAtlantic Trade and Investment Partnership, two agreements that betray the rights and interests of 99.9% of Americans, while helping Med-tech-industrial complex companies, Hollywood, publishers and a few hundred multinational, nation-sized corporations.
(4 comments) The journalism project, First Look, started by Glenn Greenwald, Laura Poitras and Jeremy Scahill, funded by Pierre Omidyar, is up and running and promises to raise the bar for all journalists and media sites.

(1 comments) I interviewed Sam Adam Jr., rated one of the top 100 defense attorneys in America, who defended former governor Rod Blagojevich he first time he was tried. Needed: A Science, Economics and Lifestyle of SMALL-- It's Time to Face Reality-- Too BIG is Too Dangerous--
(83 comments) Too big is not just about too big to fail banks. Nature abhors just about anything that is too big. Giganitism is an abnormality that, in humans and most life forms, leads to pathology or death. The same is true about things humans create-- companies, government, political and economic systems, megastores, megachurches, the 85 billionaires. who own as much as half of the seven billion planetary inhabitants.
(43 comments) I'm partially playfully and partially seriously offering some potential diagnostic categories for the very wealthy. I've saved the best diagnosis for last, since it would explain the insane behavior of the largest number of people.

(9 comments) NSA is one of a number of spy agencies which do not have to be subjected to audits. That makes them extremely vulnerable to corruption. Whistleblower and former high level NSA 30 year employee William Binney says that corruption at NSA is rampant.
Obama is Making Government Bad Gov. Real Progressives must stop apologizing for Obama and His Bad Government
(10 comments) Yesterday, NSA whistleblower said, "Our own government is a clear and compelling danger to our form of democracy." He pointed out that the American revolutionary war was fought to overcome oppressors, saying, "Who would have thunk that 200 some years later, our own government would become the oppressors."
(51 comments) Chris Christie's has fired key people and apologized. That's not good enough. It's not good enough because Christie put the people who conspired to punish political opponents into power. Christie gave them the free rein and trust to operate independently. He should be calling for an independent investigation and should order state police to arrest the perpetrators.
Facing The Reality of The System, Conservative Monarchists, and Embracing Bottom-Up Values, as the Answer
(58 comments) Asking congress or the White House or the DOJ to help is like asking wolves to protect a henhouse. It ain't happening. We need big change that does not depend upon nor expect the aforementioned agencies to do a goddamned thing.
(19 comments) It's a step in the right direction, but it's not enough to call for pardons or clemency for Snowden and his fellow whistleblowers.
(37 comments) Late yesterday Obama Supreme Court justice appointee Sonia Sotomayor granted a temporary exemption to a small group of nuns, so they would not have to provide contraceptives.
(28 comments) I'm on a tiny backwater island.. The roads are crazy. They go Up and down big hills, with wild twists and turns. Driving three miles takes 15-25 minutes. I tell the cab driver how scary these roads are. He replies, "We think that your giant expressways are scary. And a realization slaps me in the face. Curving, winding, up and down roads are bottom up. Straight roads are top-down. The insight expands.
(47 comments) We have, deeply ensconced within our power infrastructures, institutions, organizations and job categories where there are gross violations of the law, of the constitution, of the rights of citizens. These organizations and the people who operate freely as perpetrators of crimes and abuses of the constitution are protected by the power hierarchy that is supposed to supervise them and hold them accountable.
(23 comments) becoming a conscious eater is a kind of activism that impacts the environment, spending that formerly went to big bad corporations, including Big Agra, Big Pharma, fortune 1000 producers of processed foods, personal health, fitness and connecting locally, just for starters. Conscious eating is a major non-electoral way to walk your talk and make a difference.
(11 comments) Mandela was probably the most revered, most beloved living hero in the world. His life exemplifies the monomyth/hero's journey archetype that Joseph Campbell and others have described. More, it suggests some ways that the heroic journey can be further understood and emulated
(5 comments) It is sad that the US and the UK, which used to be the shining examples of press freedom are becoming, instead, excuses and examples that authoritarian regimes will be able to use to justify mistreatment of the press.
transcript of the interview I did with Coleen Rowley on October 16, 2013, shortly after she'd returned from her Moscow meeting with Edward Snowden.
(1 comments) Peter Ludlow writes frequently on digital culture, hacktivism, and the surveillance state. (36 comments) When you think of dynasties, you might think of the ancient Chinese.
Or, rather, you might think of Walton or Koch, Rockefeller, Bush, DuPont, Vanderbilt and Mellon.
There are a lot of international dynasties, as discussed in this Forbes article, but I'm talking about the USA.
I don't like the fact that a number of American dynasties already exist, and I find the idea that many more are germinating to be abhorrent.
