(16 comments) President Obama has made it clear that it is okay to kill Americans without a judge or jury and congress passed a law, NDAA, which allows people to be arrested and imprisoned indefinitely without legal representation. This is the tip of a spear. It has opened a wound in the constitutional protections of Americans that will deepen, become infected and will continue to expand its manifestation in other nations.
(33 comments) We know that corporations often make profits because they parasitize the commons-- stealing assets, like clear water, clear air, uncompensated or treated worker injuries, use of educated workers or use of roads that far exceeds the average human's use. If those corporations paid for those abuses-- paid to the commons-- then we might not have the budget problems we have and we might have less problems with the environment

India Elects Modi: Is the world's largest democracy entering its most sinister period since independence?
(17 comments) India's newly elected prime minister is bad news. He evokes nationalism as though inspired by Hitler. He was banned from the US because of the murders of many Muslims allowed under his watch as leader of the Gujurat State. His ascendence to power has been bought by giving away or selling/privatizing national resources. HIs allies have silenced dissenting journalists. Wikileaks revealed a negative US State Dept assessment:
(57 comments) There's a psychopathic continuum from full-blown psychopath, having all the traits and characteristics, to some characteristics to having a few. What would all the traits, characteristics and parameters look like, all the way to the most positive aspects of being human.

(3 comments) This evening, Passover begins and at Passover tables, the story of Passover will be told in millions of homes. Here's a slightly different version, with a 99 percenter perspective. It's a story about an oligarch (pharaoh) who has enslaved a people for generations. This Oligarch is such a narcissist he has massive edifices built by thousands of 99 percenters, for his gravesite to commemorate him even after he is gone.

They're sleep-walking because the predators doing the damage and causing the disaster want them to be sleeping.
(19 comments) After the Supreme Court's McCutcheon decision, I got word there would be a protest in downtown, Philadelphia, across from where Occupy Philly had been. I took a train down and encountered about 60-70 people mostly carrying mass-produced signs. It got me thinking that mass protests MUST change to become more effective.
