Questioning the assumption
(11 comments) We can't understand the Arab-Israeli struggle, since we assume that they know that they eventually will have to learn to live together in peace. We assume that, deep down, everyone wants peace. But if we abandon that assumption, all of a sudden things are much more understandable.

The War That Cannot End
(3 comments) Our oh-so-sensible diplomatic solutions - regardless of the minor variations that attend each particular diplomat's suggestions - are all contingent upon one thing, upon the Arabs accepting a military defeat that hasn't been inflicted upon them yet. Right now, the Isreali government is trying, once again, with half and not even half measures, to inflict a little more pain on the Palestinians, but not to actually defeat them.

Daniel Geery and the Freedom of Speech
(19 comments) It boggles my mind that people who publish on a website which, if it existed domestically in a lot of other countries would be labeled subversive (at the very least) and shut down, possibly with the writers being imprisoned, and who certainly believe that freedom of speech and the press cover whatever they have to say would so blithely throw the First Amendment in the trash when it comes to people whose speech they don't like.

Rob Kall and the purposes of going to church
(2 comments) Our esteemed host asked us to go to church today, to monitor whether the churches were making political endorsements; I suppose it never occurred to Mr Kall to go to church to, oh, worship God!

Since Mrs Clinton is trying to claim her husband's experience as her own . . .
(19 comments) While I'm certain that the vast majority of OpEdNews readers are going to vote for the Democratic nominee, whoever that turns out to be, if the nominee is Senator Clinton, you had better prepare yourselves for another four years of unseemly revelations and disclosures of financial double-dealing, because, in the end, the Clinton's are simply not honest people.

Nataline Sarkisyan and the costs of health care
(9 comments) The truth is simple: regardless of who administers the funding for medical care, whether private insurance companies or the government, there will always be pressure not to pay for things that some people see as futile or inappropriate or experimental, because they just plain cost too much money.
