Democrats, Conservatives AND Sarah Palin are Being Played by Karl Rove!

All weekend I've been enthralled in this internet controversy over rumors that Sarah Palin's youngest son is really her daughter's child!

http://www.dailykos.com/storyonly/2008/8/30/121350/137/486/580223

I confess. I got sucked in. I've spent the last 36 hours reading blogs on every site that I could find.

I've also watched Huffington Post and most other sites dig up other damaging negative facts about this controversial VP pick all weekend (Drip..Drip..Drip..)

Then out of the blue it happened. I read this totally unrelated blog and had an epiphany: This blogger is right.

We have ALL been baited by political genius Karl Rove!

But it goes further than just Democrats!

SARAH PALIN is a Rovian sacrificial lamb! I doubt that she even knows it yet! Why would they throw her and her family to the lions?

Easy. She made a lot of high level Republican enemies. When Rove needed a controversial candidate to take the news cycle away from Obama and ultimately make the conservatives happy to have Lieberman or Romney, they selected her, KNOWING about "trooper-gate" and "baby-gate"!

Sure, the "head fake" operation would most assuredly ruin her career and nationally embarrass her and her family, but who in the Republican Party would care? The State Republican Party in Alaska is investigating her for "trooper gate". She took out a high level incumbent Republican Governor in a primary, and came out against Ted Stevens. A politically savvy friend of mine once said "The road to Alaska is littered with the bodies of politicians who underestimated her!" What a perfectly fitting way for Rove and others to exact revenge on Palin personally and help the campaign at the same time!

Today Palin announced that her unwed 17 year old daughter is pregnant. She also announced that she has retained legal counsel as she is being investigated for the state trooper incident. As Huffington Post said "DRIP...DRIP....DRIP...

Bookmark this page and remember my words: Before the convention is over, she will resign for "the good of the party". I just suspect that SHE doesn't know it yet.

McCain will say to the PUMAs and the conservative base " Hey, we tried, but it didn't work out", then select Lieberman or Romney and the base will reluctantly rally around the decision to save the party. Women will be impressed that he "gave her a chance", and most importantly the news cycle will have not MENTIONED Obama or the economy for a week.

As the blogger says in the text below, ROVE HAS DONE THIS BEFORE. With Bernie Kerik for Homeland Security, then the less popular Chertoff, and who can forget Harriet Myers???

Again this idea did not come to me without the insight of this anonymous blogger: I wanted to give him credit for his work, but I have lost his name and the link. Greg Purcell

Deceptions

In politics, nothing is as it appears.  That is why the masses are fooled so often.  For example, Iraq war, 9/11, Oklahoma city bombing, etc., etc., etc.

However, it does not mean they will succeed.  This could backfire on McCain this close to election.  Assuming we have fair elections.  We will see soon enough.

Update from the author:

Aaron Sorkin, creater of the TV series "West Wing" said this morning on MSNBC's "Morning Joe" that Sarah Palin is what you would call a "stunt pick".

Sorkin detailed how the producers would bring in an interesting celebrity cameo for one night to get the ratings up. Sarah Palin will get Karl Rove and gang through the convention. Remember the conservatives were going to revolt if Lieberman were selected?

After tonight that problem is solved.

Also, IF Palin becomes VP (and then President) She becomes the LEADER of the Republican Party. Are the powerful party leaders (Rove) REALLY going to let a person who "went against them" and "taxed oil companies" run the party? NOT!

Joe Lieberman made a lot of friends with his speech last night. Next week, he's gonna be the VP candidate.

Quote from Roosevelt

Whenever anything of importance occurs in politics, everyone must consider this quote before postulating their position/conclusion.

"In politics, nothing happens by accident. If it happens, you can bet it was planned that way."

Franklin D. Roosevelt

Nothing can happen without *our* participation in it

Carl Rove can plan all he wants, scheme all he wants....the only way he will be effective is if we, individually, take part in the game. If we refuse to take part, it will fall on its nose. That simple.

I suggest we here on Opednews stop participating in the National Enquirer-type gossip ring (how sickening) and get on with real things.

Speaking of which....the selection of Palin could just as easily work against McCain as it could against Palin. Because *we* can put McCain on the spot, in public, for first harping about Obama's lack of experience, then himself choosing a VP who herself has, in the words of Sen. Barbara Boxer, "not one hour of experience in Congress".

How two-faced is that? How trustworthy should that make McCain in his own constituents' eyes? Time to get on the toot, folks, and not just here on Opednews. Time to post to conservative blogs and spread word!

Thank you all.

PS oh, and not to mention that (I've checked the voting record) McCain voted FOR torture and AGAINST restoration of Habeas Corpus in Sen. Dodd's bill "restore the constitution act". People will assume that such matters only are for terrorists, but we need to brief them in to the realities. Let's go for the toot, while we still have time!

I doubt I was the guy you were talking about...

...but I wrote this yesterday on my site.

Vetting Problems? Ahhh, Maybe Not...

"The timing of the marketing-launch of this Disneyesque “Princess Sarah” fable couldn’t have been more convenient for the McCain camp; right after a historic speech given by Barack Obama, a history making presidential choice, in his own right. Palin’s nomination dragged the focus of the spotlights right off of the democratic nominee and placed their burning glare square on the face of Gov. Palin and her family.

Obama’s speech and Hillary’s support of his nomination wasn’t the only thing that got lost in the shuffle when Palin was given the nod. So was the democrats new-found unity"

"No, this is way to contrived to be happenstance. Like other events (read “New Pearl Harbor”) that just seemed to happen just at the right time for the neo-cons, this one starts to smell a bit scripted, if you will. It’s like someone is writing the history of our nation as if it were a bad episode of “Dallas” (or Reno 9/11, take your pick) complete with dirty family secrets and plots within plots for the bored super-rich."

This is clearly just a stunt to distract from a number of things and use the oportunity to make 'progressives" look like a bunch of bullies going after this woman's family. Just one more excuse we have handed them to justify the "remarkable" come-from-behind "victory" for john mccain. And the progressive bloggers bought it hook-line-and-sinker.
