Bill O'Reilly

Reynard Blake Jr
Message Reynard Blake Jr

Bill O’Reilly

Bill O’Reilly:

Calls his show “The O’Reilly Factor”

A part of the “Fair and Balanced” station

Believes he’s the voice of the nation

In reality, he represents his faction

His “us” meaning conservatives

“Them” meaning progressives

Corrupt “Hollywood liberals” vs. “the working class”

He believes he is the voice of the “common man”

Gauges “the heartland of America”

Code words

Conservative, angry, threatened, middle-aged white men

And white homogeneous mid-America communities

Minds unbending

He distances himself from his demographic and writes:

I don't want to fit any…labels, because… the truth doesn't have labels

You’re right Mr. O’Reilly, the truth doesn’t have labels

Yet, you’re ready willing and able

To place labels to those who disagree

Placing labels on people every 6.8 seconds

Check Indiana University

You hate those that challenge you

Or, those that don’t look like you

Provides opportunities for you to spew

Spew your racist or sexist rhetoric

High ratings mean people agree

You’re in high demand

But when you present “truths”

On non-whites and gays

Eerie voices like the Klan’s

Providing few facts and providing more rants

Living in an alternate universe

How can you say Dad was working class?

I didn’t know accounting was manual or industrial

Dad earning $35K a year back then

In today’s dollars means over $100K

You represent the middle class?

You’re closer to the “Hollywood Elite”

When you earn money from your Fox salary and more

What else can one believe?

Your speaking fees are $50k a pop

Your “No Spin Zone” deceives

Here are some O’Reilly realities:

He moved from TV tabloid to a TV talk show

And while “Inside Edition” provided some facts

His “Factor” suffers from a special paranoia

He reduces guest facts to “it’s your opinion”

He combines his perception of truth

Mixes it with his fantasies

He’s a media McCarthy

“Commies” are now liberals

Trying to take over the world

They are the new terrorists

Those liberals that are winning “The Culture Wars”

This white knight

Helps people see the light of “Traditional values”

These are the old code words

Meaning, let’s go backwards in time:

There are good Negroes and bad Negroes--

Farrakhan, bad Negro

(He probably thinks “Bad n-word,” but that’s not PC)

Clarence and Condi, good Negroes

They know their place

In O’Reilly’s world

The world of “Traditional values”

“Men are men and women are women”

Watch out women

Or, shall I say girls

You’ll have your old marching orders:

“Stay at home and have babies!”

(White babies, if you’re John Gibson)

“Dammit secretary, get my coffee!”

(While you get fondled or harassed)

“Have my house cleaned!”

“Have my drink ready when I come home from work!”

(And, you better be dressed, have your make-up on)

“Chop-chop!  Where’s my dinner?”

“Traditional values:”

The times of June Cleaver or “Ozzie and Harriet”

Hillary and Hutaxble don’t fit in his world, baby girl!

Bill O’Reilly

Fighting the culture wars

For “the good ol’ days”

Of Christian prayers and Christmas

With white baby Jesuses

And terrific sales offered by his sponsors

Of saluting the flag

While there are flagging schools

While there are few places with living wages

The “good ol’ days”

Where Brown was just the color of shoes

Where color lines were clearly drawn

Where working hard is touted

While war profiteers line-up for welfare

Welfare in the guise of no-bid contracts

The “good ol’ days”

With the subliminal messages of white divinity

Loving the subtle racism of Intelligent Design

Ah, Mr. O’Reilly

You’ve got a good game

You pre-empt adversaries’ ideas

With your “aw, shucks” kind of act

Your perceived antagonists

You deem them elitist and/or godless

So different than you and the “Heartland”

Therefore, worthy to be derided and dismissed

Because you’re a “pinhead”

Perceived elitist views are too complex

Too complex for you and your audience

Because you’re just like them

Insulting, because you’re dumbing them down

It’s like rubbing your education in their faces

You’re a Northeastern elitist

Grew up in Levittown, New York

A stone’s throw from New York City

Went to great urban universities

You have two master’s degrees

Here’s part two of your game, Mr. O’Reilly

Your other claim to fame

Saying “I’m not the smartest person in the room”

Another beautiful tactic

You back people into an intellectual corner

If someone disagrees with you

Then they’re even stupider than you

Nobody wants to be known as stupid

That move is pretty cool!

Actually, it’s a masterstroke

Like when you bash progressives or ignore them

You encourage Republican votes

Bill O’Reilly

A wily conservative

Sorry, “Traditionalist”

Republican all the way

Now it’s fine for him to speak his views

It is the O’Reilly show

However, his opinion is not always fact

When he adds his racist and sexist world view

His ideas are not worthy of trust

His views should be treated like his views on Blacks

Get to the back of the bus!
