Speaking From the Heart Mr. President?

"At a press briefing this morning that touched on issues like the White House's extrajudicial wiretapping program and torture policies, the president was asked a question about Vladimir Putin's plan to hold on to power when his term as Russian president runs out.

Reporter: Mr. President, following up on Vladimir Putin for a moment, he said recently that next year, when he has to step down according to the constitution, as the president, he may become prime minister; in effect keeping power and dashing any hopes for a genuine democratic transition there ...

Bush: I've been planning that myself."

Even the Bible, which the President claims to have an insight into says, "Out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks..." Matthew 12:34 It was spoken by Jesus in the context of a generation of vipers that seemed to be troubling those in Jesus times.

Mr. Bush has said a lot of things in the past seven years that have escaped from his heart telling us, perhaps, a bit more about his inner workings than we might wish to know. Actually, we better know.

By the President's own admission...

"I don't particularly like it when people put words in my mouth, either, by the way, unless I say it." --George W. Bush, Crawford, Texas, Nov. 10,

So in the spirit of letting the President speak for himself, let's take a look at a few things that have leaked out of his heart, such as not leaving office that should give us all a moment to consider, "Just what did you mean Mr. President?"

"This notion that the United States is getting ready to attack Iran is simply ridiculous. And having said that, all options are on the table." --Brussels, Belgium, Feb. 22, 2005

So what you're saying is that we aren't getting ready any more but rather we ARE ready? Gotcha.

"See, in my line of work you got to keep repeating things over and over and over again for the truth to sink in, to kind of catapult the propaganda." --Greece, N.Y., May 24, 2005

Yeah, we were afraid of that, but thanks for the reminder.

"I'm the decider, and I decide what is best." of course, this ranks right up there with "I'm the Commander Guy."

Well yeah, but do you have to use that tone?

"We're kicking ass." --George W. Bush, on the security situation in Iraq, to Australian Deputy Prime Minister Mark Vaile, Sydney, Australia, Sept. 5, 2007

Good. Kicking ass is the whole point. Americans love to kick ass and we are aaaaasssssing kickin the world.
