...stories in Texas...
This is truly a sad story made all the more savage with the descent, like vultures on carrion, of troops from nearby Fort Rucker. See Reuters photo here.
A quiet young man in an already impoverished area of an increasingly impoverished country, decides on suicide by cop. But not before he decides to take with him a cadre of thought-criminals whom he viewed as primarily responsible for his inability to take responsibility for his impoverished existence.
Whatever it takes to deploy weapons of mass distraction against the American public. If it's not conspicuously STUPID stories of formerly "silent" Gitmo prisoners telling all, it's the violation of Posse Comitatus by the US military in complete defiance of the US Constitution.
As much as I appreciate Sy Hersh's willingness to risk life and limb by telling strategic truths at just the right time, I do need to remind everyone that no one -- and I do mean, NO ONE -- gains access to the high levels of intelligence that Hersh has obtained without being in the pocket of powerful people who wield a double-edged sword.
I am not suggesting that Hersh shouldn't come forward with whatever he knows about Cheney and his band of merry-murderers, but I do believe that it is high time that America put back on its "thinking caps" and starting being critical of journalists who are more interested in profiteering than in journalism.
Focus, boys and girls. At the bunny.
Tens of trillions of dollars have been stolen from the US Treasury by the friends and relatives of the Bush Family.
To place that amount of money into perspective, the GLOBAL gross domestic product is estimated to be an amount that is LESS than the total amount of money the Bush Crime Family and friends have already stolen.
Let that sink in a little while. Two, three, four...ten, twelve and an even score...civilization as we have come to know it has been ended by 8 years of Bush and Cheney.
It's GONE.
What is keeping everything going, then?
We are. You and me. We continue going to work, obeying the law and buying products with little slips of paper that have no intrinsic value WHATSOEVER. We believe that these slips of paper have value, but that is the ONLY THING that ever gives anything any value.
If we decide that we've had enough of the stealing and the killing, the murder and the mayhem, there would be NO CIVILIZATION. EVER. We'd all be in a mad dash to locate a king and a comfortably safe fiefdom where, hopefully, we could be serf or vassal of some repute.
Until then, one by one, inch by inch, each of us will be pushed to the brink of our ability to remain humane and civil. Most of us will be horrified while the weak ones on the margins will be fed to the wolves, as was Michael McLendon.
While I'm not an expert psychotherapist, I do know trauma and I do know depression. Michael McLendon could have been treated for both of these conditions and been rendered a productive member of society. Instead, a healthcare system run by INSURANCE COMPANIES has decided that mental health and well being is no longer a safe bet for ANYONE.
