On Thursday morning June 16th in front of the Cheshire County Courthouse in New Hampshire, a father doused himself with gasoline and set himself on fire.
He was but one, just as you are one as well. I've written about eighty six year old Addie Polk before, an Ohio widow in who shot herself twice in the chest while sheriffs deputies waited on her porch to serve her with a notice of eviction. I wrote about a Florida man who after losing his business and then his job and on the verge of losing his house walked out into his backyard set up a folding lawn chair placed a gun barrel in his mouth and blew his brains out.
These are real people and though they may not be perfect or blameless they don't deserve their fates. They were one, just as you are one.
Goldman Sachs was selling credit default swaps to their customers and then betting against them to fail. It is as if they fixed horse race and convinced everyone to bet on the favorite just to run the odds up. The business media, the media in general and even the President blamed the mortgage crisis on the homeowners themselves, they blamed the victims of the crime and made them the scapegoats. Just as the Bush administration blamed the poor in New Orleans for not leaving town ahead of Katrina.
Joe Stack flew his airplane into the IRS offices because he felt persecuted by them. A Supreme Court Justice fails to report over a million dollars of his wife's income on his tax return and then flicks the problem away like lint on his robe. This as an ever multiplying complex matrix of security manifests its self until the TSA behavior specialists begin to pick out passengers on charges of appearing suspicious. Those passenger's are one alone and we don't want to be the one they choose to pick out of the crowd, now do we? That is their subliminal message, to pick out one or two to remind the rest of the herd that it's best they remain docile.
The purpose of the first Gulf war was to establish the empire upon the Arabian continent, to serve notice that the empire was both benefactor and adversary. After eight years of UN sanctions that damn Saddam still would not fall, and so another war was mandated by the empire, especially after Saddam promised to start selling his oil based in Euros. The empire cannot allow any threat to its status as the world's reserve currency.
An old saw says that after military defeat comes economic defeat which leaves us with the question, was the second Gulf war instigated because of the impending economic collapse or was it an attempt to prevent or mitigate the economic collapse? Or could it have been it in fact the root cause of the economic collapse? We do know that the war was intentional and premeditated and that its primary goal was the consolidation of the empire's control of world oil resources.
After promises of flowers and candy the empire finds itself a decade later with only a tenuous hold on its conquest's in Iraq and Afghanistan. Hand picked lackey's head Quisling corrupt governments which operate with perhaps more oil flowing under the table than above it. Peace talks between the empire and the Taliban continue in Germany as Osama Bin Laden is declared dead and his body disappeared for the sole reason that he was no longer needed. I'm sure that the prime contingent in the Afghan negotiations will be the allotment of the oil pipelines. You see if the empire can stop others from getting their oil to anxious waiting markets it is the same as owning it themselves. The man who owns the ice cream truck is just as important as the man who owns the ice cream. So as Obama promises troop withdrawals you have to ask, where to next?
The so called free government of the United States did wrong and continues to do wrong covering its tracks with the cat litter of euphemistic freedom and liberty. Saudi troops invaded neighboring Bahrain forcing its king to sign a back dated invitation. These troops are shooting down unarmed civilians in the streets as Hillary Clinton throws her support behind Saudi women's right to drive. The empire condemns Assad in Syria and Qaddifi in Libya while they remain corpse silent about atrocities in Bahrain and Israel's treatment of the Palestinians. The empire no longer cares what you do; only who you are to the empire and who you are doing it to.
The empire condemns the terrorism it itself practices against nations around the world. It encourages the government of Colombia to investigate the murders of union labor leaders while the empire's own politicians and media back at home attack labor rights in this country. The empire terrorizes of its own people with, job cuts, health care cuts, poverty and homelessness, along the simple fact that somehow, someway you've probably violated some law today.
The class action suit against Wal-mart over gender bias is dismissed by the Supreme Court, oh, surprise, surprise. The justices ruled that there were just too many locations and no clear standard by which to prove an intentional or unspoken policy of discrimination.
Had the high court taken this Wal-mart attitude against Jim Crow laws there would still be segregated water fountains and they would be legal as long as they weren't marked as "white" or "colored."
This court typifies the discorporate dissolution of the United States, for if a bus containing the Supreme Court justices were to sail over a cliff at eighty miles an hour the general public would only lament the loss of a good bus. It doesn't matter your political persuasion or affiliation, for across the full political spectrum the public is sick at heart and filled with contempt for this court and this government.
A treasury run by Goldman Sachs, an Agriculture department run by Monsanto, A Food & Drug administration run by pharmaceutical companies and a White House run from Wall Street the Pentagon and the CIA. Rule number one, defend the empire. A nation which exports only raw materials and cash has a defining economic problem on its hands. Eventually the well runs dry, eventually the rest of the world starts looking around for a new reserve currency.
