The whole world is watching us USA "Guys and Dolls" as usual, but especially as we bump our heads on the debt ceiling, on our way to celebrate our exceptional 235th birthday.  And they said it wouldn't last!

As my first professional job was Directing "1776" in 1976 in Philadelphia, PA, you can well imagine Independence Day is a  sacrosanct    holiday for me, that needs no props to celebrate, with every breath I take in this 'work in progress' we call "The Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave."

Despite all the media fueled fireworks aimed at each other, by their repetitive gossip -- Oh how I miss those good old boys my parents made me watch:  Chet, David and Walter, a funny thing happened on our way to 235, Mayors stopped talking just to each other, and launched the rallying cry, "Nation Building," like Charity, begins at home, with a governor evolving faster than a President.

Now to be fair, as we push for ever more, let us agree, there's more to being a world leader than the "Mission Accomplished" cowboy Andrew Jackson wannabe oil men of recent short term memory loss.  While as an evolving, reserved, centrist, moderate, dating the Independent center, while embracing the Right without divorcing the Left, President Obama has been most frustrating, nonetheless he is, as he has always been.  He was never the radical you worshiped with tear filled eyes.  It's just that his cool, calm reasonable rationale seemed to be radically Left in contrast to the impeachable offenses of the Dick's Bush League.

So at age 235, let us celebrate this truth that will set us free:  it takes more than one person to do better than "all the king's horses and all the king's men" in putting America back together again, even if he's a President.

With media screaming 'political upset' as an "are you a flake" comes in second to front runner, by default, in her own state's caucus, not primary;  Palin quitting again;  Cardinal hiding priests sexual harassment while harassing consenting gay adults desire to marry;  each year our consuming 1.3 years worth of the earth's resources; may I leave you with this Independent's American thoughts:
