We welcome people's candidates, open primaries and third parties

An election shouldn't be just a personality contest. Don't give up on cherished issues like infrastructure repair for employment and climate damage mitigation quite yet. Sanders and Clinton propose the same kinds of liberal social programs. He could not get them passed against Congressional domination by extreme Republican tax and budget cutters. But many Republicans detest Clinton. If she became the first woman president, they'd take the same delight in saying "NO!" to her as they have saying "NO!" to Obama. She was unable to get much needed health care extension passed even in 1993 when her husband was president and both houses of Congress had Democratic majorities. Nor, it seems likely from unfavorability ratings, is she likely to have coattails to sweep others into office. Nor is Trump from the stable of insulting, entitlement - threatening bigots like Cruz and other free market fundamentalists. In '68 and '72 when Democrats pushed aside their more peaceful candidates (McCarthy, McGovern, like Sanders today) they lost to Nixon.

There's someone uniquely qualified, a fiscal conservative but social liberal, who could beat both Trump and Clinton. It's MikeBloomberg. The Independent Greens of Virginia are again seeking to draft him. Transfer your passion for improvement to this movement! He has won the mayor's office of New York running as a Republican, as a Democrat and as an Independent! I don't agree with Bloomberg's every position, but, as a truly self-made billionaire maybe 7 times richer than Trump, and a 1st. Jewish American President, he might, as a consensus candidate, be able to get badly needed programs like infrastructure repair passed. He wants a moon shot program to cure cancer.

The only way to pacify the age old Jewish - Palestinian conflict would be a two - state solution with a nearly impenetrable wall of separation between Israel and a Palestinian state. For this to happens a U.S. president must be elected who has the resources to withstand immense lobbying pressure from $100's of millions of dollars and several million votes given to American politicians who tolerate unending Israeli expansion of settlements in the West Bank of the Jordan River. Only a Jewish American male multi-billionaire, a first Jewish American president like Bloomberg might be able to lean hard enough to eventually bring U.S. foreign policy to balance expansionist aims of Israel's Likud Coalition against the national aspirations of Palestinians. If Bloomberg can't be drafted, Clinton would mean up to 8 more years of war in the Middle East, and meddling "regime change" anywhere else she chooses. You could still protest that by voting for Dr.JillStein, candidate of the Green Party USA. Green is Great.

I could be Bernie Sanders older brother by similarity. I was born in Manhattan, 1940, he, about a year later, in Brooklyn. I too am a white male American. A retired college professor of philosophy. We both were born of Jewish parents. I was (more...)
