Last night at their town meetings two more Maine towns passed the Local Food & Community Self-Governance Ordinance. The town of Appleton passed the LFCSGO by a vote of 28 to 16. The Town of Livermore passed the LFCSGO unanimously. (Burl's note, "YES!")
This brings the number of Maine towns that have passed the Local Food & Community Self-Governance Ordinance to eight: Sedgwick; Penobscot; Blue Hill; Trenton; Hope; Plymouth; Appleton; and Livermore. All ordinances were passed by voters at town meetings.
The Town of Fayette is scheduled to vote on the Local Food & Community Self-Governance Ordinance this Saturday, June 16.
