Police stole Republic of China flags from citizens in Taipei on Monday, November 3. An unannounced ban on displaying the de facto country's own flag was sprung upon protestors who were hoping to harrass the visiting head of Beijing's de facto "reunification" board. Tibetan flags were also unwelcome. In fact, the whole highway between the airport and the city's fabled Grand Hotel effectively became a martial law zone.
