The G.O.P.'s transformation into the party of the 'unreasonable and intolerant right is likely to accelerate as a result of the impending 2008 election defeat. This will pose a dilemma for any remaining GOP moderates, many of whom have spent the Bush years in denial about GOP dishonesty and contempt for the rule of law. |
