"For the protection of students, charter schools must be regulated by government. Charter schools, which are not subject to all the rules and regulations of local education departments, but are funded by taxpayer funds, are expanding. When it comes to civil rights, remember one thing: “They can’t keep you out, and they can’t drum you out! The Equal Protection Clause of the U.S. 14th Amendment, and the Due Process Clause, which provides a student who may be suspended or expelled the right to be alerted to the charges and given an opportunity to plead their case. Families should know, he said, that they are protected by federal statutes that all schools, be they public, charter, or private, must follow: including Title VI,  and ; Title IX!
