Article 2 Sec 1 of the Constitution requires that the president-elect take the following oath of office before assuming office, “I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.” Trump is signaling that he intends to violate his oath of office by not protecting and defending the United States. The idea that a man with no national security experience is going to skip the presidential daily briefing and allow the people around him to keep him informed is a dangerous threat to the security of the country. Especially when the president-elect is surrounding himself with individuals who have close ties to a hostile foreign actor towards the United States of America.
