Oklahoma death row inmate Richard Glossip won a last-minute reprieve from the Oklahoma Court of Criminal Appeals, just a few hours prior to his scheduled execution. In its brief order, the court decided to "reset" Glossip's execution to Sept. 30 in order "to give fair consideration to the materials included" with his request for a stay. Three hours before the scheduled execution, Oklahoma Department of Corrections Director Robert Patton told Glossip’s witnesses that a rare stay of execution had been granted, sparing him from lethal injection for a third time.
