| A June 5 -8, 2014 Gallup poll finds confidence in the Supreme Court of the U.S. (SCOTUS) hit 30%. This new low contrasts with The Supreme Court's Powerful New Consensus Op-ed praising the Robert's Court 2013-14 term for achieving unanimous decisions in more than 66 percent of its case. Fortunately the Americas are not shortsighted as to how bitter 5-to-4 divisions have adversely affected "electoral Integrity" and more importantly the "Integrity of Self-government". All SCOTUS don't have the same impact on the 99%, so the performance of The Court should not be viewed as a pure numbers game. A schizophrenic Court is nothing to applaud, instead it begs the question should U.S. voters demand recourse to overturn SCOTUS 5-to-4 decisions with a national referendum, as wisely, suggested by our great populist President Teddy Roosevelt. |
