THIS KIND OF CORRUPTION CAN HAPPEN TO YOU. HERE IS A TOTALLY UNNECESSARY 'SOLUTION' TO A NON-EXISTANT PROBLEM THAT THE PEOPLE IN ROCKLAND COUNTY NEW YORK. WE HAVE PLENTY OF WATER. it is a corrupted legislature doing the dirty-work of a corporate entity.
* It is entirely unacceptable that 65% of the charges we are being asked to pay - $39 million - are kept secret from the ratepayers!
* Desalination is NOT NEEDED. Rockland has ample supply for years to come.
* Desalination would forever change the character of our community, opening the door to rapid and unchecked overdevelopment.
* Rockland residents overwhelmingly oppose drinking water drawn 3.5 miles downstream from Indian Point nuclear power plant, with long term exposures to low levels of tritium & strontium-90.
