There is so much confusion about the Common Core curricula designed by Gates and cohorts without input from educators, much as the Reading tests have been designed by Pearson with no input or oversight by educators (see quick link to 'We Need To Talk About the Test" April 10- from The NY Times). Gerri K. Songer ( Brooklyn principal) maintains that the Common Core standards misunderstands how students learn to read. In a previous post, she demonstrated that the reading levels of PARCC were set so high and were so unrealistic that they would cause a very high failure rate.
