A must read is the wonderful article by Steve Almond in The NY Times Sunday magazine, last week, about how "the narrative authority in America had changed:" how we hear "only the bits and pieces run through the filter of our chosen media", so that "the greater, human narrative of our species becomes too enormous, too confused , too terrifying."
