| Having principals evaluate teachers without first establishing a genuine rubric for performance objective is a disaster. The assault on teachers began when corrupt administrators were allowed to make up subjective criteria, and then slander teachers with false documentation and 'file letters' as the union looked the other way when grievances were filed, and due process was eviscerated. While evaluating staff is crucial, a principal needs a genuine rubric, such as the four principles of LEARNING, (not teaching) which were the result of third level research by Pew for the New Standards. Of the "Eight Principles of Learning" from Harvard which was the research, four were for the administration, who are responsible for enabling teachers to practice by supplying materials, organizing schedules and programs, providing support services and providing a safe, healthy, plant. |
