This wonderful essay about reasoning comes at a time when advertising wants us to abandon reason and accept their version of reality, and a time when the future leader of our great empire is being sold to us as a product. Reasoning human beings expect solutions that work, and people with integrity and character who can accomplish complicated solutions.
"We all need to take a cold hard look at the evidence," says Lynch ... "You don't have to be Karl Rove to appreciate the obvious fact that the evidence often fails to persuade, to suspect that what really works are the tried and true methods of good advertising, emotional associations and having the bigger stick (or 'super' PAC")".
