The mother of shooting victim Trayvon Martin is being sued by an insurance company seeking to avoid paying any damages related to the controversial "stand your ground" killing that took place in Florida earlier this year. Martin was killed by George Zimmerman, the neighborhood watch captain for The Retreat at Twin Lakes Homeowners' Association, in late February. A month later, the homeowners association took out a liability insurance policy with Travelers Insurance. Martin's mother, Sybrina Fulton, then filed a claim with Travelers seeking monetary damages for her son's death. The Travelers lawsuit, which also names the homeowners association, says the company has no responsibility to defend the complex or to cover the teenager's death.
