Frank talk needed before Iraq falls apart

The world must plan for the disintegration of Iraq...Iraq is "teetering on the threshold of wholesale disaster," according to a new and frightening report by the International Crisis Group, a nongovernmental organization that seeks to ameliorate conflicts around the globe. That is, it faces a civil war that could eventually end the tacit international agreement that Iraq's current borders remain intact. The world must confront the possibility of sectarian strife that becomes a contagion, enveloping the Middle East, expanding Iran's power and embroiling Turkey, a NATO ally.
