While the media is framing Rep. Al Green's impeachment effort as a failure, the truth is, the effort yielded more support than ever before. Previous efforts had seen 58, then 63 votes for impeachment. This time, when there was a vote to table impeachment, 95 reps voted against it, including House Judiciary Committee Chair Nadler and former Republican Justin Amash.
The fact is, support for impeachment is higher now than it was during the time of Bill Clinton. Among those 95 representatives who opposed tabling the vote were people who had not stated their support for impeachment before.
