I am a low-to-no-income person getting-older. I work (when i have work) as a seasonal gardener. I'm tired of seeing America eroded by corporate neo- fascists, and tired of watching the gift of life on this miraculous planet be exploited and destroyed for greed, wealth and power for the few. The idea of looking at what we can do to benefit, protect, and steward this earth for the next seven generations, speaks deeply to me. No matter how many "bad news" stories are out there, no matter how hopeless things seem, what else can we do except to stand for them - the next 7 generations, and all the non-human life forms that deserve a chance to keep living?

Vulture Capitalism at its finest: How Wall Street Enabled the Fracking "Revolution" SHARE
This probably used to be forest. ***************This is "old news" from last week...So the only guys getting rich on these "bets" are the bookies and CEOs banksters. They are throwing money at shale oil "boom" industry that is a quarter TRILLION $$$ in the hole. Guess who will bail out those companies, after they have polluted every bit of drinking water for this and future generations and go belly-up.There's no word that even comes close to describing the despicability of these hedge fund vulture capitalist greedsters (no offense to vultures, who eat the dead and I wish vultures would eat the dead souls of Wall Street, but even carrion-eaters would find them inedible.)

The Migrant Quilt Project Honors Migrants Who Died Trying to Cross the U.S. Border SHARE
Today, looking at quilt inspirations, I was led to this site, and was moved to tears. A background story is here. Thinking of our own friends and neighbors from south of the border, how must they feel knowing that over 3,000 people - with loved ones, family, friends, talents, dreams - have died in the desert since 2000, in the Arizona Sector alone, trying for a better life? U.S. policy has made so many of these people's homelands deadly for them and their children. As things ratchet up to even uglier levels with immigration policies, we as artists of all disciplines can address these issues in our art. W. VA Dem candidate hauled out of Legislature for naming fossil fuel corporate backers to politicians SHARE
I guess the fossil-fuel-industry-bought politicians in the West Virgina legislature really want to silence Lissa Lewis, a democratic candidate for the 7th district. They have a bill on the floor which would allow for drilling on properties with multiple owners if 75% enter into a lease, rather than the 100% that should be required. Lucas came to oppose the rights violations to property owners against drilling that this would pose. When Lucas called B.S. on the "job creation" myth, and started to read the laundry-list of fossil fuel industry campaign backers and dollar amounts to the "bought" politcians who are pushing hard for the Appalachian Storage Hub (see other quicklink article about the China Energy Investment Corp), the presiding delegate, John Schott (who she also named) had her forcibly removed. The good news is she has raised over $45,000 since she was ejected.

Indigenous leader Red Fawn, who allegedly fired a firearm while at Standing Rock, can get life impisonment for this alleged crime. Follow the money. This excellent site has been following Wall Street money and the players for awhile; the dots connect, but not in the way corporate media and the CIA want us to believe. This is fact: our election was orchestrated - but can we really believe the B.S. that the neo- McCarthyists, with their "red scare" and attempt to blacklist alternative journalism and blame Clinton's loss on "the Russians?" Most American will believe the State propaganda, but IMO, we need to dig deeper to connect the dots.

The 2016 Lummi Nation Totem Pole Journey is Under Way! SHARE

The totem pole, carved by master carver Jewell Praying Wolf James of the House of Tears carvers, is the 4th totem pole to make the journey to First Nations communities on the front lines in the fossil fuel exports war.
The Totem Pole Journeys unify First Nations, faith groups, environmental groups, and community leaders to stand as one, educate people to the dangers, and to stop fossil fuel extraction and export from decimating our lands, waters, and hurting all sentient beings on the planet. The approach is spiritual.This year's journey changed course so that the Lummi Nation can support the Standing Rock Sioux Nation in their pipeline fight. Act Out! [69] - Peace Through Video Games, and When News Isn't News SHARE
Eleanor Goldfield has broadcasted Act-Out! on the Occupy.com website and youtube every week for 70+ weeks. The topics covered are fantastic, as is her opening poetry. More people should know that Occupy! is alive and well. The whole (powerful) first part of the show is about a new video game called "This War of Mine." The creators' aim?
