All that our society needs to do to be moral and good (raising our children with strong family values, maintaining faith and social mores, maintaining our family and community traditions) are also necessary.
What we need to remember as Americans (if not as people on the whole) is that neither of these wide swaths of social goals are appropriate resolving by pointing government guns at the problems. We MUST take responsibility for ourselves, our families, and our communities and we MUST stop looking to use force to accomplish these things; because no matter what, as soon as you try to do good with a gun, you have done evil.
