Thursday, January 27, 2005 Bush to Wall Street: "If it ain't broke we'll break It1" SHARE
George Bush with the help of the right-wing (read propaganda machines) think tanks prolific along K Street in Washington, D.C., is leading the charge to pillage America?s oldest and most successful social welfare program; Social Security. Waiting in the wings with the pre-coital exuberance of an expectant groom on his wedding night are the ravagers of Wall Street. Those denizens of the capitalistic canyons who never met a pension plan or similar benefit structure that they could not wait to deflower. After all, these leeches shelled out good money in the form of campaign and inauguration contributions to have their way with the retirement benefits of millions of American and they want to collect on that investment now. In addition to getting in the pants of many millions of Americans they are also waiting for the $2 plus trillion that George is going to hand them to get started, that?s one hell of a powerful aphrodisiac!
Sunday, November 21, 2004 What to Do? SHARE
Yes men ? and women ? will make the Bush machine unstoppable. With the wholesale resignation of many of the Bush upper echelon ? and replacement with bootlicks ? Mr. Bush will be assured that he will not have to listen to any naysayers or doubting Thomas?s when it comes to foreign or domestic policy. The wholesale shakeup of the CIA will also result in an agency reluctant to bring anything to the table that does not adhere to the Bush doctrine of terrorism and tyranny. It will truly be a ?Bush World? for the next four years. Not to say ? outside of Colin Powell ? that the resignations now occurring were models of restraint, but there was a common thread of pragmatism, which will now be lost. Once the purge is complete the American people can be assured that the Bush neocons will have their way with the treasury, the environment, health care and education; there will be absolutely no pretense of a ?safety net? for those less fortunate. As the most famous contemptuous quotation states: ?Let them eat cake,? Bush and company have coined a new phrase, ?If they want to eat, let them seek God.? The problem with that is that not everyone seeks that same God that George W. seeks, nor would most of us desire to since George says that God tells him to go forth and kill people.
Friday, November 12, 2004 Terror Alert SHARE
Washington, D.C. (November 12, 2004): Homeland Security Czar Tom Ridge today raised the terror alert from yellow to orange for all Christmas trees on public display across the country. The move was initiated in response to reports of "little men with beards and funny clothes" being observed gathering near the Christmas tree in Rockefeller Center, New York City.
Thursday, November 11, 2004 "The best of times, the worst of times" SHARE
With the election of George W. Bush we appear to be entering a truly Dickensian phase now, for the rich it will most assuredly be ?the best of times;? and for the poor, elderly, women, children, gays, and minorities it becomes ?the worst of times.? We will have ?faith-based? groups that will minister to the poor ? as long as those poor stand still for the proselytizing and ?take Jesus into their hearts.? Who will minister the poor that will have no truck with Jesus? Who will educate the children? Who will feed the hungry? What will ensure the civil rights of the gay community? Who will carry the cudgel for equality in marriage, in a woman?s right to choose? Most certainly it will not be Bush and his evangelical base, nor will it be the Democrats who never met a poor person they couldn?t meet every four years. Where do we go from here? Just as the rich capitalist is secure behind his gated enclave, the poor are ? from a political standpoint ?as secure in their misery. To be powerless in America is to be a political and social liability, and George W. Bush and his bastards-in-arms know this all to well.
