A research study published two days ago by the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives reported that Canadians could save anywhere between 10% and 40% in drug expenditures, which would amount to more than $10 billion nationwide, if a national drug plan was introduced in Canada. Imagine if such a drug plan was introduced in the U.S., how much more would Americans save in drug expenditures?

To our great surprise, yesterday my wife received a mail-in survey from the RNC. The survey is obviously aimed at finding 'hot button' issues that the GOP can exploit to retake control of the House of Representatives and the Senate this November.

Earlier this week, a colleague of mine volunteered to get a thank-you card, flowers and a gift card for our administrative assistant. Since all the cards were sealed at the local bookstore, he grabbed the first one that seemed to fit the sentiment of gratitude for our administrative assistant.... Fearing a lawsuit and explanations we didn't want to make, we obviously didn't give this thank-you card!

I'll never forget how, right after the wife suffered this horrendous beating, a man in the audience shouted something like, "Well deserved!" or "Yeah!" at the screen. I wish I could remember the exact words, but he was definitely showing approval for what had happened.
