As I researched island life in contemplation of a potential move I began to read some of the pioneering works of Jon P Craven and others. Mist Lift being one form of OTEC wherein a Waterfall is Created Within the Sea that powers a conventional hydroelectric turbine to produce electricity at greater efficiency and much less capital cost than previous OTEC experiments.

I began a wikipedia entry for Mist Lift OTEC, and hope that an ongoing investigation by Makai engineering will help move this technology foward.
