I'm just another concerned citizen disgusted with the status
quo of corruption and misery perpetrated upon us all by a craven neo-feudal system of predatory global capital.
I would like to see the protests, demonstrations, and civil
disobedience scaled up to millions of us in the streets on a permanent basis. I hope my words can help to ignite the spark to bring about true justice and freedom for the unnecessary sufferings inflicted upon the 99%.
I guess I first became politically aware when I came of age during the Vietnam war. I was totally against it, and made my feelings known publically at the Deep South high school I attended. During Moratorium Day while there, I wore a black armband to school to show support for solidarity against the war. I was summarily escorted off campus and sent home to remove the armband and return the next day without it. I complied because I wanted to graduate. I've been engaged in progressive causes ever sense, but haven't yet expressed my convictions to their fullest potential.
I'm hoping to work on realizing that potential more and more...
I'm very inspired by the Occupy movement and the writings of Chris Hedges.
I'm 60 years old and live in San Jose CA with my wife and our two mongrels.
