Sheila Sonnenschein is married and a mother of four living in Overland Park, Kansas. Her freelance work has been published in The Kansas City Star, The Kansas City Jewish Chronicle, Being Jewish, the Suburban Journal of St. Louis, and the National Catholic Reporter. Her community volunteer work has included starting a Mitzvah Garden, coordinating a centerpiece program to benefit the Kosher Food Pantry in Kansas City, helping teens plan 3 peace walks, and building bridges between different faith communities. Sonnenschein has been making challah, the Jewish Sabbath and holiday bread, once a week for the last 25 years. She is currently working on a children's/adult book on how to make this special bread.
