I run a public relations and marketing communications firm in Honolulu, Hawaii. I work primarily on environmental, land use and energy projects. My interests include economics and finance, politics, scotch, music and art. I am a recovering Democrat.

I was born and grew up in West Texas, moved to Hawaii and graduated from the University of Hawaii with a degree in art. Received a master's degree in English from the University of Washington and later an MBA from the University of Hawaii.

I have two daughters and worry a lot about the kind of world in which they will have to live.
