THE WRIGHT STUFF Do we prefer a spiritual advisor who asks us to be merciful and just? Or do we prefer a President who has spiritual advisors who are filled with hatred, divisive, and pushing us toward more wars? Notice, that no one is talking about McCain's spiritual advisors. Rev. Rod Parsley in Ohio calls on the U.S. to wage war against Iran, and compares Planned Parenthood to the Klu Klux Klan. Rev. John Hagee calls for attacking Iran...

The primaries have placed us in the world of possibilities, where the best of who we could be could come to the forefront, and we could dream and en-vision a much better future. We could see what America might be, with better, more caring, more enlightened leadership. We could hope, instead of make decisions out of fear. We could be raised up rather than put down.

What Might Be A Democratic And Christian Approach To Immigration? Sometimes, to listen to Conservative Christian Republican candidates talk, we might think that they are called, by God, to dismiss, ostracize, and kick out the immigrant. There is little compassion or regard for any basic human rights, and if anything, we can hear fear, hatred, and using words that make the immigrant into someone not quite human.

GEORGE W., THE BAD PLUMBER One day, you notice that something seems to be wrong with the plumbing. You've heard of George W. and somebody told you he's a really nice guy. You ask him to come to look at the plumbing. He tells you that a thingabob is stuck. It’ll take no more than 6 hours to fix it, no more than $350, and it's a "slam dunk." He seems nice and reassuring and tells you he’s a Christian. You figure those are good enough qualifications...

Changing Theologies On 4/20/07, the Pope changed a long-standing Catholic theology that said babies who died without being baptized go to Limbo. The new theology now says that there is hope that maybe, these babies can now go to heaven. As long as we're in the season for changing theologies, there are a few others that we could change as well.

Charitable Works Many of us want to do good in the world. To make a difference. To help. To care. To give back. If you're like me, you may feel stretched thin and overwhelmed by the many appeals to do Good, and soon, don't know what to do. Do you do a little with a lot, or choose one or two charities and try to become more involved?
