I hold a Bachelors Degree in Political Science, summa cum laude, with minors in political philosophy and political ideologies, including Masters Degree work in Theories of Value.
I then obtained my Juris Doctorate with Honors and specialized in the defense of death penalty cases after a stint in corporate law with Florida's largest firm, then with Exxon-Mobile. I have been certified to testify as an expert in the constitutionality of the defense of capital cases by other trial attorneys under the Sixth Amendment's right to effective assistance of counsel, but have not done so in recent years.
The combination of political disapproval of my general refusal to plea bargain and my tactic of making capital cases cost local authorities as much as possible, along with successful trial results and my lack of self-control regarding controlled substances led to forced retirement.
I then raised four sons and coached soccer for many years, living off the income from my former practice of law and testifying as an expert and consulting at times as my wife overwhelmingly supported the family in her profession. I also wrote for OpEdNews and became a Senior Editor under a nom de plume.
My political awakening occurred on May 4, 1970, when I entered a high school classroom as a sophomore to see â??ONG 4 Students 0â? written in white chalk on a blackboard. Upon asking what the cryptic message meant, I learned the murder of innocent students on their college campus by American troops was suddenly legal.
