We're #1 Yes, "We're #1" alright. The U.S. is the "Number One" nation for killing and waging war. All of those who have promoted violence over nonviolent conflict resolution have in the end become bin Laden's greatest enablers and supporters. In the end, they have turned Amerika into all that we abhorred in Osama bin Laden.

Obama's Reelection Strategy While progressives and liberals will spend the better part of the next year agonizing over whether they should primary the President, Obama and his centrist election team have a clear strategy that they are certain is going to lead to a second term. The first of his two-part strategy is simple raise more money and the second part is equally simple but far more interesting, the old "divide and conquer."

Stop the War! Expose the Lies! Free Bradley Manning! The good news is that the anti-war/peace movement is very alive and well. Its real strength has always been the ability to empower and inspire people to resist. It has never been about the number of demonstrators but the courage and depth of commitment of those willing to take it to the streets.

Time to Wake Up From the American Dream -- Reflections on May Day 40 Years Later We must be absolutely clear that non-violent resistance and struggle is our only chance. Not because the capacity and willingness of the plutocracy to use violence is infinitely greater. But because our values -- non-violent conflict resolution, empathy, taking care of one another, true equality, and sharing of both work and the benefits of that work -- are our greatest strength and our only hope.
