For 30 years Dr. McCluney was principal research scientist at the Florida Solar Energy Center, a research institute of the University of Central Florida. He holds B.A., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in physics and has published over 60 popular and technical articles as well as several books. He is currently a consulting physicist in Tennessee. He has been studying, lecturing, and writing on energy and environmental policy for several decades.

De-Growth conference. April 29 - May 2nd
This conference gets to the core new thinking that is needed. And coming up with ways to implement the new social contract that needs to emerge. I will be unable to attend, but hopefully good things will come from this effort. I'm glad that talented people are addressing this critical issue.

On Climate Science Denial

Denial of clear scientific evidence reigns supreme in financial circles and on the blogosphere. Certain people don't want global warming to be real and human-caused, because they'd have to make some huge changes in their ways of doing business ...

Students Oppose Nuclear Dumping in Tennesee
Students at Vanderbilt University and Belmont University in Nashville, Tenn. have spent two weekends braving the rain, cold temperatures and early morning hours to encourage fellow Tennesseans to sign a petition aimed at ending nuclear dumping in Tennessee.

Our Global Ponzi Economy
Environmental policy issues are generally set by “leaders” in industry and government, who are failing to lead us away from danger -- the cliff we approach. Most of us feel like we're the little guys, can't change large-scale misguided policy, don't have access to the powerful leaders in big cities far away from us. But the more we work to change our individual and local communities, the more our leaders will respond.
