There also comes a profound realization of how much more went into the process than we ever appreciated. It feels like trying cook Grandma's signature dish based on the partial list of ingredients in collective memory. Thus,we're thankful for

On John Gideon and the Daily Voting News
To state the obvious, John cannot be replaced. But DVN, John's
personal brainchild and invaluable contribution to VotersUnite.Org,
has become an essential resource in the election integrity community
and beyond. I want to reassure you that I am working with other
colleagues of John to figure out how VotersUnite can continue a form
of DVN even in John's absence. Hopefully, it will not be long.

Regarding Internet Voting in Washington State
Clearly our SoS office has done no research into the matter. They don't want to waste time researching it if the legislature doesn't authorize using it.So they are pushing it,telling the legislature it can be made secure and private, without any evidence or research to back them up,and even in the face of evidence to the contrary. Some in the legislature appear to be trusting their word, unaware that the SoS has done no research.

This bill would reform our elections into the antithesis of the grand experiment envisioned by the founding fathers. It is beyond amendment. It must be withdrawn or defeated.Congress should pass simple, doable, common sense election reform for 2008 to provide meaningful checks and balances without undue federal intrusion into and obstruction of the rights of states and citizens.

Senator Feinstein's Election Reform Bill: A Constitutional Heresy
Some expected Sen. Feinstein's bill S. 1487, "The Ballot Integrity Act of 2007," to improve on, Rush Holt's bill, H.R. 811. Far from an improvement, S. 1487 introduces surprising -" and disturbing -" new provisions, systematically dismantling government by the people, and it provides a legal excuse for expanding the disenfranchisement of "distinct communities" such as racial minorities.

ES&S - the Midas Touch in Reverse
ES&S products fail again and again at the one thing they are supposed to do - count votes correctly. With hurricane ES&S gathering speed in every election, we can only wonder ... why are their systems still in use, and what will be next?
