In the late 1980s I left New Jersey for Los Angeles, where I lived and worked until the early 2000s. First, as general manager and a contributing editor for Brain/Mind Bulletin (a monthly publication founded in 1975 by brain researcher and science writer Marilyn Ferguson, best-known for her book, "The Aquarian Conspiracy.") And later, between 1996 and 2001, as Ferguson's business manager, scheduling her corporate consultancy gigs, booking her engagements at conferences and expos here and abroad, negotiating fees & honorariums, producing and disseminating press kits, arranging and accompanying her on her travels, and launching campaigns around her appearances to market Brain/Mind Bulletin and its extensive list of spin-offs.
In the mid-'90s we sponsored "Writing and Becoming", a series of seminars and workshops in several metropolitan centers around the country.
We worked closely as creative collaborators, frequently consulting for other writers, helping expand core concepts into comprehensive outlines, offering editorial guidance and support, drafting book proposals, web content, and hooking up agents and publishers with projects we helped develop.
I also edited and illustrated a number of Ferguson's own manuscripts, and collaborated extensively on "Aquarius Now", the long-awaited sequel to "The Aquarian Conspiracy."
