Peter Goldmark vs. the Tax Lady The Republicans in Congress continue to try and peddle the myth that they're not voting for taxes when Congress continues to allow huge deficits and off-budget expenditures. Here are the basic truths: A debt/deficit is a tax. It's not the death tax that's the problem, it's the life taxes. Free trade isn't Free. So, Republicans who raise deficits are just hiding their taxes for the next generations to pay.
